Questions

The questions we get most.

Are Helmpie helmets safe?

Yes. Safety is our priority. Scooter Helmpies are certified to ECE 22.06, the current European safety standard for scooter and moped helmets, tested for impact protection, with the certification sticker on the shell. Ski Helmpies are certified to EN 1077:2007 Class B, the European standard for ski and snowboard helmets, with the certification labelled inside the helmet.

Which size should I choose?

Measure around your head, just above the eyebrows, and match it to the chart below. If you are between sizes, size up for a comfortable fit. View the size guide →

Should I replace my helmet after a fall?

Yes. If your helmet has experienced a significant impact, we strongly recommend replacing it, even if no visible damage is present. Internal protective materials can compress during impact.

What is your return policy?

30 day return policy from the date you receive your helmet. The helmet must be unworn, undamaged, and returned in original packaging. EU buyers also have a 14 day cooling off period.

What is Helmpie and who started it?

Helmpie was started in Amsterdam in 2024 by sisters Mimi & Lulu Bos. We grew up cycling, scooting, and skiing — and we kept noticing every helmet on the market looked like sports equipment, not something you'd actually want to wear. So we set out to make helmets that feel like part of your outfit, designed with the care of a fashion label rather than a sporting-goods catalogue — same safety standards (ECE 22.06 for scooter, EN 1077:2007 Class B for ski). Because you shouldn't have to compromise your style for safety when you can have both.

How do I clean and care for my Helmpie?

Wipe the outer shell with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then air-dry naturally — no solvents, no alcohol, and never use heat. Store it in the dust bag it shipped in, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

How long does a Helmpie last?

Approximately 5 years (3–5 depending on use). The EPS foam inside gradually degrades from UV, sweat, and time even without an impact, so we recommend replacing every 5 years. After any significant fall, replace it immediately regardless of age.

Is there a warranty?

Yes — 2 years from purchase date, covering manufacturing defects. Proof of purchase is required. Damage from impact, modification, or normal wear is not covered.

Which payment methods do you accept?

iDEAL, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Klarna (buy now pay later), and PayPal. All prices in EUR. VAT is added at checkout for European orders.
